From Smudged Graphite to a New Adventure: Why I’m Returning to My Creative Roots

Do you remember the specific smell of a fresh pack of plain bond paper? For most people, it just meant homework, printed essays, or maybe a makeshift paper airplane. But for me, in my elementary school days, a stack of bond paper was an absolute universe of possibilities.

Back then, I wasn't just a kid sitting at a desk; I was a one-person publishing house.

Every single week, I would fold those blank sheets, grab my favorite pens, and draw entire comic book issues from scratch. There was no overarching editorial plan, no digital drafting—just pure, unfiltered imagination spilling onto the page, heavily inspired by whatever anime I was obsessed with that month or the superhero comics I was devouring.

The best part wasn't just the drawing; it was the distribution. I would bring these slightly crumpled, graphite-smudged issues to school and pass them around to my classmates.

There was a unique thrill in watching someone read a story you brought to life with your own hands. The gasps, the laughs, the questions about what would happen next—it was my very own weekly serialization.

Somewhere along the line, as we grow up, life gets noisy. The bond paper gets replaced by spreadsheets, and the smudged graphite is traded in for polished, "productive" tasks.

I realized recently just how much I missed it.

I missed the physical act of creating: The feeling of the pen gliding across the paper.

I missed the imperfections: The accidental smudges of ink on the side of my hand that served as a badge of honor.

I missed the anticipation: The simple, unadulterated joy of making something new just to see if someone else might enjoy it... or not.

Turning a New Page: The Next Evolution

I wanted that feeling back. I needed to create again. But I also wanted to try something slightly different, to stretch a new set of creative muscles.

So, I’ve decided to launch a brand-new project. I am writing a fictional light novel.

It’s not a comic—for now. While I miss drawing, I want to dive deep into world-building, character development, and narrative pacing through prose, capturing that same energetic, anime-inspired spirit of my childhood comics but in a completely different format.

What to Expect

Just like the old days on the playground, I’m committing to a schedule. No matter what, you can expect:

  • Weekly updates: A brand-new chapter dropping every single week.

  • Original storytelling: Straight from my imagination, directly to your screen.

I am incredibly excited to get back to doing what I love, and I would be honored if you joined me on this new journey. The smudges might be digital now, but the heart behind the story is exactly the same.

Ready to dive into the Prologue? By the way, I called it Prayers of the Powerful.
