From Comfort Zone to Courage Zone

Reminiscing that moment when we told ourselves, "This is it."
We flew from the Philippines to Spain.
We are just an ordinary couple with extraordinary dreams.
Yes, we love to travel.
But this time, we had no return ticket.

I’m always up for an adventure. But this one hit differently.
Can we survive?
Will we experience homesickness?
Will I cry?
What if I have another panic attack?
I worry too much. I tend to overthink.
But I can't deny the fact that I was also very excited.

Fast forward to today...
After more than three months, we’re still in our adjustment period.
Living abroad for the first time feels like a completely different story.
We’re far from our families, our dogs, our friends.
I miss them so much.

This is my second “this is it,” because we’re truly out of our comfort zones now.
We’re just... us. All by ourselves.

It’s a whole new environment.
A new mindset.
A new perspective on life.
A million new challenges.
But with a familiar courage.
Actually, maybe that courage has evolved.

Maybe that’s what happens when you’re really out of your comfort zone.
We're learning new things every day, from the culture, the people, the place…
And all the different ways to survive.

Because we gave ourselves no other choice:
We had to survive.

But surviving isn’t the end goal.

Thriving is.

I’ve always believed that any journey worth starting from scratch isn’t supposed to be smooth.
I expected this.

And now, after three months of living here in Spain, even though the challenges never seem to end, we’ve discovered so many strengths we didn’t know we had.
Our endurance, our maturity, even our emotional responses—they’ve grown.

Our life isn’t perfect.
And we may not be rich financially…
But we are rich with dreams.

And that dream?
That’s enough to fuel everything we do.
We’ll do whatever it takes to make this work.

Because there’s no turning back.
We’re here to succeed and nothing less.

A Realization Worth Sharing

Is it worth it? DEFINITELY. We can't imagine our lives if we hadn’t pursued this.
We would’ve felt stuck. We would’ve had regrets.

Life is never certain, after all.
So we took the risk.
We made a bold step.

Because the dreams planted in our hearts?
They’re there for a reason.
They mean our lives have a purpose.
